Hello all and welcome!
I started on this path with a single goal in mind…. to help as many homeschooling families as possible! Please feel free to share the link around to anyone you think it could help whether it’s with their homeschooling journey, looking for some fun craft ideas, or just something to read!
I would just like to take a moment to speak directly to the newbies of homeschooling…. To everyone that is just starting out on their journeys, I know it can be hard. I know it can seem so overwhelming. I know it can be incredibly frustrating. But that’s OK! I wish someone had told me that when I was starting out, it’s OK to feel how you feel. Most parents, at one point or another in their life feel like they are failing at something or at the very least not doing as well as they think they could. You are not alone and you are absolutely allowed to feel all of it! If someone doesn’t like it or approve that’s their problem to work out NOT yours! That’s the main reason for this page, the site, the group, and everything else I run. I was so overwhelmed when I started I was having panic attacks and doing constant research, rarely sleeping. I had no idea where to start, what to teach, what to use, and had nobody I could turn to for help. I felt like I failed before I began and I was definitely judged and probably still am. But I knew then and I know now this is the way I want my children to get their education for so many reasons I’ll share along the way. I am a member of so many wonderful sites, blogs, and groups now that I am so thankful for but one thing I had a hard time finding was a place like I’m trying to create here. One place I could go to get the worksheets, tips, craft ideas, supply lists, YouTube videos, etc. without having to search through post that aren’t aimed at the work aspect of homeschooling.
I know looking at everything I have uploaded and will continue to upload in my group and now on my site can seem like a lot. Don’t worry, you will figure it out and I will do everything I can to help you along the way! Please keep in mind I did not accumulate this all in the time it took to create the group and site. These are things and info/tips I have found, collected, and learned over the almost 4 years I have been homeschooling full time and a little from the 10+ years I homeschooled part time.
To everyone who has joined my group and/or follows my site or other platforms…. I honestly think homeschooling is the very best style of education today and if this is the style of education you truly wish to follow I believe 100% you will be amazing at it and figure out the best way for you and your family! It definitely takes a lot of work and commitment to succeed on this path, but as long as you put in the work and encourage your children I truly believe you will. I’m am just here to hopefully make it easier for you than it was for me, as I wish someone had done for our family.
I always welcome feedback on how to improve or how well I’m doing at posting so please don’t hesitate to give it! I am currently only posting about the age/grade my youngest is working on but I have posted a few sites in the FB group that I greatly enjoy as well. Most of them offer things for all grades and ages.
I don’t always use worksheets for our lessons. Some subjects will definitely have less worksheet options than others. I will do my best to post about the different ways we teach in our home and the things we use to do so in hopes it inspires or helps some of y’all. Don’t forget to check for downloads for pre assembled work packs, games, and more. I was recently informed by my youngest that some of the things in the group are incorrect in some way. How I missed it I don’t know, but I am trying to weed them out as I go, if you find anything misspelled or incorrect in any way it would be greatly appreciated if you could point them out to me!
Thank you all for joining/following and all of the comments/messages of thanks and encouragement. You have all made me feel reassured that I might actually be doing this right (or at least like I’m OK at it lol) and very useful which at times can be challenging for a homeschooling stay at home mom like myself. Like a lot of you I’m sure, I don’t always feel like I have everything under control (and I know a lot of times I probably don’t) but I really hope I can help others avoid that feeling at least a little with the site, page, group, etc! I support every single one of you and your choices on your journey. Keep learning, keep teaching, and enjoy!
Thank you all again and enjoy!
