This week we start Hocus Pocus! We are also starting to incorporate the Magic Tree House books into our curriculum. We LOVE these books! If you haven’t read them DO IT! It’s going to take me a little time to get the worksheets created for the book, but until then I have found a few worksheets to tide us all over. I also checked out the Magic Tree House site which offers a Kid’s Adventure Club feature. I spent 30 min or so clicking around, checking out all of the things included in the adventure club. Check out what this club has to offer and the screengrabs (seen below) I took so ya’ll can see what it’s about below. I definitely think the club is very useful and we will be using it regularly now. One of the things I really enjoyed was the resource center. There’s not a lot on that particular page, but the few things it does offer are great.

The first part of the adventure club is the books! Once you create your child’s profile you can log in the pages they read and unlock rewards as the pages add up. Once the book is completed you click the “finished” option and they give you the option of taking a quick quiz on that book to see how well your child payed attention. If they pass they get a “passport badge” they can check out later and watch them add up as they go.
The adventure club also offers games, educational games! The games aren’t specific to the books exactly, but the themes tie in. I played a few games to try them out before having the kid try them. You can select easy or hard each time. There are various questions on several topics and different puzzles to solve. Each time you play you earn medallions just like Morgan’s from the books! You can make the medallion reward full page so you can print it and have a physical copy to collect!
