Witchy Math Game

I have been working on trying to make odds and evens more fun. I’m not sure why but the youngest hasn’t caught on to this topic as quickly as the rest of the math we have done. I’m hoping this game and the one previously added helps, so far it’s proven to be a lot of fun for the kiddo, still to soon to see if the lesson will stick but I’m optimistic! Going along with the Hocus Pocus theme this week, I’m calling this game Witch Odds and Evens! The full instructions on how to play are in the download below as well as a separate spooky dice pack. I make a lot of games, most of which require dice and math. Adding single digits has become to easy for the kid so I have made some double digit dice for us to start using. The numbers I selected are random aside from the counting by tens ones I made. There is also a couple of blank dice to create your own!

The markers/pawns you see in the photos can be used a couple of different ways. 1) Each player chooses 1 marker to move a long the board. This is the way my kiddo prefers and requested the pieces be glued to clothes pins so they don’t slide around. 2) Put all of them in a pile and choose a new one each time you need to mark a cauldron. My husband prefers this way, but would still like the pieces all glued to clothes pins, which I did after taking the photos.

I also made some fun and funny potion cards for this game that you can choose to play with or without and with as many copies as you’d like. If you choose to play with the cards  there’s 2 ways to do that which you can find instructions for in the pack as well. Play one of the 2 ways with them, both ways combined, or not at all!

The goal is the same no matter how you choose to play, get to the book first by marking all of the cauldrons before the other player(s)! Get the book be the winner! However, unlike a lot of the other game I have created, this game does have several ways to play and learn! How you and your little ones decide to play is up to you, but whatever you choose your children are sure to learn and have fun doing it!
