Saturday: For our art project this week and to kick off our new year in a fun way we made time capsules. This was a family project, everyone filled out a form and added photos and things from our past year. Since drawing and writing better are some of the kids goals we put in some writing and drawing pages to compare when we open the box next year. We made one of capsules out of an Amazon box we had from our delivers this holiday season. We had prettier boxes and options but that’s the one the kid chose so far be it from me to say no. 😂🤣 The youngest decorated the box with paint and things and sealed it with duct tape because the kid has been looking for a reason to use the purple duct tape. We will open that capsule on New Years day 2022 and fill out the second blank form we all put in and compare them to the ones from this year to see how much things have changed. Since my oldest is graduating this year and headed to college we filled out a more detailed 5 year form that goes along with the first one we all filled out. The form has a list of goals and a plan the next 5 years. We included a blank copy of that form as well to be filled out in 5 years when that capsule is opened New Years day 2025 and see how much the kiddo achieved. We just used basic large envelopes for the older two’s forms since they weren’t to into the decorating part of this project. We will also be making vision boards to keep everyone on track with their goals next weekend as our art project. We’ll hang them in their rooms where they will be seen daily! Get your FREE time capsule forms below! You may also want to check out the New Years pack if you haven’t already, also below!
Sunday: My uncle set the kiddo up with a Kiwi subscription for Christmas, we did the first create project this weekend for our STEM project, a claw arcade style game. If you haven’t heard of this I definitely recommend checking it out. You can choose from several ages and subjects and it’s very educational. My only complaint is the vague detail on how to put everything together.
