Quick note before you begin: I do update the Amazon shopping lists (all of them not just the family one) every so often in an attempt to keep it as up to date and relevant as I can. I also update this page with any new tips I discover, or with new brands I find. Checking back every little while may be worth it to you!
Every year the youngest and I (and sometimes dad and the other two kiddos as well) get new matching outfits. The tradition started because as a baby the kid looked nothing like me. A lot of people would assume I was the nanny or dads girlfriend. To avoid the annoying, and at times rude, comments I started matching our outfits. People loved our look and complemented us everywhere we went, which the kiddo grew to love of course, therefore wanted to continue dressing a like. So, every year I spend at least one whole day searching Amazon for the cutest things at the best prices and then kiddo picks out everything for the year. This year I put together a family match Amazon shopping list (link below) so ya’ll could benefit from all my searching as well. I have also included a few tips to find the best options at the best deals, such as on what terms you should use when searching, and some of our favorite sellers/brands to look for. All of the shoes and clothing that we have bought, or even just considered has been added to the Amazon shopping list. Some things may say not available, you may still want to click them and check. It may just mean the size or color that was selected when added to the list is out, but they may still have what you’re looking for. A lot of items also have multiple choices that would match other items on the list. I also make us a few matching things every year, designed by kiddo. You can check out some of our favorite matching outfits throughout the year below as well.
When searching you should use some of the following terms: Family matching, mother daughter matching, mommy and me matching, family clothing, mother daughter matching dress, mommy and me matching dress, and parent child matching. If it’s dresses specifically you’re looking for, also search for skirts, and possibly tutus. For whatever reason it also brings up a lot of dresses rather than skirts.
Brands/sellers to look/search for: for shoes try JJF, Link and Forever Link, Cambridge and Cambridge Select, and Dream Pairs. For dresses and other clothing try PopReal, Romwe, SheIn, SOLY HUX, CALLA DREAM, IFFEI, and Black Butterfly. Romwe, SheIn, and SOLY HUX carry a lot of the same prints and styles/designs. If you’re not finding something you like in a certain size from one of them try searching for it from one of the other two brands.
A few other tips:
One of the best tips I can give you is, whenever possible, buy the clothing you want in the off seasons! For example; if you want matching spring/summer outfits, shop for them in the winter; around December is normally best. You can typically find things much cheaper shopping in the off seasons, trust me!
Another big tip is, shop around. Don’t buy the first item you find in whatever design/print you’re looking for. Look through every page, you can almost always find a cheaper version of the exact item you’re looking for if you just take the time to dig into all of the search results! Also search for the same item several ways. For example; if you want a matching polka dot dresses, search “mommy and me matching polka dot dress”, “mother daughter matching polka dot dress”, “family matching polka dot dress”, and so on. You’d be surprised how many different results you will get just by switching a few key search words!
If you’re as big a fan of the vintage look as we are, you can’t go wrong with polka dots! It’s a classic print, and you can almost always find it in any color and in various sizes, from infant to adult, for any gender, in several styles of dresses, pants, tops, etc. So, if vintage isn’t your thing, you can also find polka dot prints in many, many other styles! Everyone in your family could easily wear a style of outfit they feel most comfortable in, while still clearly matching you and/or whomever else! This is probably the easiest print to find in every size, color, and style.
I’d say the second easiest print to find across just about every size, color, and style would be plaids. Plaids come in a ton of styles and colors so everyone is happy with their look. It’s easiest to find matching plaids in black and white or red and black, but almost any color and design of plaid can be found in several styles and sizes to create almost any look you’re going for!
A few other prints you can pretty much always find in vintage and various other styles, in many sizes/colors include houndstooth, cherries, lemons, sunflowers, roses, sunflowers, Hawaiian flowers, and many other floral prints, and of course solid colors.
For matching shoes, wedges can be found in almost every size, for both kids and adults, as well as various glitters, jellies, Convers, and Oxfords.
The best app I have found for this kind of thing (besides Amazon of course) is SheIn. You can find some of their family matching products on Amazon, but their app definitely has more options. Keep in mind though, a lot of their products take a while to arrive, and they don’t have free shipping like Amazon prime does.
OK! There you have it. The best info I can give you to find those adorable matching looks you’re going for! Happy shopping all!!
Amazon Shopping List
I want to make it very clear that I do NOT get paid to promote anything on the lists in anyway, nor does anyone I know. The products are not sent to me/friends/family to review. I have found and used/researched these on my own. I spend a significant amount of time each month on amazon searching around to find the best products to aid in our homeschool journey at the best deals! Now you can benefit from my hours of work as well! I have put together lists of teaching aids, books, kits and more that may prove useful and helpful on your homeschool journey as well! I have also put together a list of family matching clothing, shoes and accessories. Our youngest is very much into matching mom, so every spring we choose a few matching outfits and things that are always a big hit with our friends and family. Everything we have bought or simply just considered is on the list. Please note the sizes and colors displayed may not be the matching item. Also some things may say out of stock, however it may only be for the size and/or color that was selected when the item was added to the list. Click on the item to check the availability of your desired sizes/colors for sure.
AGIAN, I want to make it very clear that I do not get paid to promote anything on the lists in anyway, nor does anyone I know. The products are not sent to me/friends/family to review. I have personally researched and/or used everything on the lists above myself, (aside from the family marching products, some of those were considered and viewed but not purchased) which is why I feel comfortable recommending these items to you. If anyone finds a recalled or poorly reviewed product on the list that I may have somehow missed PLEASE contact me and let me know! I hope you find these list and their contents as useful, helpful, and fun as we have! If there’s a type of shopping list you’d like to see created please feel free to send me the request and I will do my best to set it up asap! Enjoy and happy teaching!
